Creative Minds with Jocelyne Comeau

Date Time:
Sunday, 26 May 2019 - 1:00pm to 3:00pm
Creative Minds
Multi-media artist Jocelyne Comeau will demonstrate how a story can be expressed through art.
Telling stories through visual art or “visual storytelling” isn't new. Original works of art can be created through a variety of techniques learned from diverse artistic disciplines. Techniques such as collage, montage, assemblage, stencilling, stamping, printmaking and others can be used to create art that tells a story, makes a statement, or conveys a message. New artworks made with pre-existing materials such as photos and images from newspapers, magazines, books, old art, and other objects can have stunning results.

About the Artist:

Jocelyne has been practicing her art for many years. “Bricoleuse” (tinkerer) by nature, she adjusts the many mediums to create. She has participated in many courses and workshops in a variety of genres such as: watercolour, acrylic, printmaking, collage, montage, bricolage, basket making, jewellery, writing, paper making and storytelling. As a starting point, she uses her very active and vivid imagination to respond to the capriciousness of her creative soul. She has worked in the field of community development since graduating from Université Sainte-Anne, in Community Development and Social Animation.
