Seminar Room

Gallery Spaces

The Gallery brings a unique atmosphere to any special event, reception, or gathering. Gallery spaces are most suitable for stand-up or cocktail receptions, however, we can be flexible with special arrangements as long as Gallery standards and regulations are followed.

Gallery space bookings are only possible when the Gallery is closed to the public. Catering arrangements must be made by the organization renting the space.

Rental Information

The lecture theatre and seminar rooms are available during both regular Gallery hours and when the Gallery is closed to the public. Open Gallery spaces are only available when the Gallery is closed to the public. All events are subject to exhibition schedules and layout, art conservation restrictions, and legal requirements of the lenders of work in the Gallery spaces.

Space is subject to availability and a signed confirmation form is required prior to the event. A cancellation fee applies without at least 72 hours notice.

Ask in advance about arranging a guided tour of Gallery exhibitions. Fees apply.


Fees are negotiated with Gallery staff before the event is confirmed. Prices may vary depending on the level of staff involvement and set-up required. Security fees and/or additional fees apply if room is required prior to 8 am or after 5 pm. Clean-up fees may also apply.


The meeting rental rooms are part of a public gallery. Noise should be kept at a minimum and activities are to be contained to the meeting room and not flow to other areas. All rooms must be left in good order when vacated.

Liquor is only permitted when the Gallery is closed. Red wine consumption is restricted to certain areas because of the threat it poses to artwork.

The Gallery does not supply:

  • Tablecloths, glassware, china, etc.
  • Entertainment (report technical requirements at least 2 weeks prior to event)
  • Extension cords for coffee percolators, entertainment equipment, etc.

The Gallery will not assume liability for personal injury, loss, theft, or damage to equipment resulting from actions of any person or group renting museum facilities. Smoking is not permitted in the Gallery or near public entrances. For the comfort of all visitors, the Gallery is scent-free.
