Ron Terada

Born 1969, Vancouver, BC

Ron Terada studied at the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and the University of British Columbia.  Ron Terada’s art practice engages with themes of signage and with the ineffectiveness of text-based artworks within a public space. He also produces exhibition posters, signs and pamphlets. Terada enjoys the connotations of his unsigned interventions–both the literal and the kitsch.

Ron Terada has had solo exhibitions at Ikon Gallery, UK; the Art Gallery of Windsor; Mercer Union, Toronto; the Contemporary Art Gallery, Vancouver; Or Gallery, Vancouver; Art Gallery of Ontario; and Catriona Jeffries Gallery, among others. He has been part of group exhibitions at Presentation House Gallery;

Shanghai Art Museum, Shanghai Biennale 2006; CCA Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts, San Francisco; Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego; Mackenzie Art Gallery; Vancouver Art Gallery; Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; Ottawa Art Gallery, among many others.Ron Terada lives and works in Vancouver. He is represented by Catriona Jeffries Gallery in Vancouver.
