Please review Sobey Art Award summary and guidelines for nominators and artists carefully before completing the nomination form. 

• NOMINATORS ARE WELCOME TO NOMINATE MORE THAN ONE ELIGIBLE ARTIST.
• There can only be one nomination per form.
• All forms must be typed or printed in black ink.
• Nominations for the 2010 award must be postmarked by March 1, 2010.

Nomination Guidelines
For Nominees:

• Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident in Canada;
  
• Must be 40 years old or younger on December 30th in the year that award is presented;
• Has shown their work in a public or commercial art gallery within 18 months of being nominated;
• Shown commitment to artistic practice;
• Received recognition from peers, critics and or curators.

For Nominators:

• A director or a member of the board of directors of a Canadian museum, public gallery, or artist-run-centre, professional arts organization or;
• The dean or chair of fine arts study at a Canadian university or art college, or a professor at such an institution or;
• A Canadian private art dealer in visual or media arts or;
• An established visual or media art critic or curator.
• An established visual artist.

Applications must include:

• Completed and signed nomination form;
• Curriculum vitae for nominated artist;
• 200 word artist biography;
• A maximum of 30 digital images of most recent work by nominated artist (we no longer accept slides);
• Numbered list of images noting medium, dimensions, year created;
• One page cover letter, written by nominator, outlining artist’s significant achievements and reason for nomination;
• Curriculum vitae for nominator or 1/2 page description of nominating organization
