Nocturne: Art at Night is a completely
volunteer-driven initiative, relying on the help and support of its
volunteers to make the event a success.
If you enjoy art and sharing art with others, we invite you to apply as a tour developer. We're seeking four individuals to develop tours for four distinct areas: downtown Dartmouth, downtown Halifax (including some waterfront), university campuses and Spring Garden (including some waterfront and downtown) and the Halifax North End (including the Hydrostone and MSVU).
As tour developer, you will:
- create a tour that is 45-60 minutes in length
- train 2-4 tour guides
- deliver at least one tour on the night of Nocturne, Oct. 16.
Tours do not have to be limited to galleries and independent projects. Unique and creative approaches to tours are encouraged.

Public galleries (non-profit or publicly-owned), private galleries (commercial enterprises for the sale of art), artist cooperatives and diverse artistic spaces are all encouraged to participate as a gallery in Nocturne and are not subject to a juried process.

Independent
projects are artist-conceived and artist-led projects that are situated
in public or publicly-accessible non-commercial spaces throughout the
urban centres of Halifax and Dartmouth. The Nocturne: Art at Night
organizing committee is pleased to offer funding for artist fees and
production costs related to the conception, fabrication and installation
of select independent artist projects. Successful proposals will be
determined through a peer jury process.
