Halifax,
NS - Nocturne: Art at Night is back for a second year, and organizers
are pleased to announce 26 galleries have confirmed their participation
and are already planning for the Saturday October 17th event. Halifax
residents and tourists alike will once again have the opportunity to
visit both public and private art galleries free of charge from 6 pm –
midnight.
Sarah Fillmore, Acting Chief Curator and Curator of
Exhibitions, Art Gallery of Nova Scotia notes “The Art Gallery of Nova
Scotia is very excited to be a part of Nocturne this year. Last year
was an exhilarating experience that saw more than 3000 visitors view
exhibitions at the AGNS and a specially installed exhibition on
Ondaatje Court. The AGNS anticipates this year will build on that, with
new installations, new exhibitions and with Nocturne taking place the
same week as the announcement of the 2009 Sobey Art Award, engaging art
lovers here in Halifax and beyond.”
