Halifax, Nova Scotia- The Nocturne committee is announcing the call for independent projects for Nocturne 2010.
To apply, artists must review the form on the
participate page. The application requires details about the project, including budget considerations and location, as well as supporting images and the artist’s resumé. Applicants are invited to submit up to two different independent project proposals.
The applications will be reviewed by a juried panel of local arts professionals and artists, selected by the Nocturne Programming Committee. All applicants will be notified of the result of their application.
The deadline to apply is Monday, June 7. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
There will be an information session for interested artists on Wednesday, May 5, at 6 p.m. at The Hub, 1673 Barrington St.
Nocturne: Art at Night is a fall festival that brings art and energy to the streets of Halifax between 6 p.m.-midnight. This year’s event will take place on October 16. The completely free, third annual event showcases and celebrates the visual arts scene in Halifax. Nocturne, designed and planned by volunteers, is an opportunity for everyone to experience the art of Halifax in a whole new light. The Nocturne Program Guide provides details about exhibitions in galleries and public spaces throughout the city.
