Painter, graphic designer, and co-owner of the Paragon Theatre, Peter Farmer has been painting on stage with musicians for the past 2 years. Musicians include: Kid Koala, Skratch Bastid, Arron Collier, Ruby Jean and the Thoughtful Bees, Rich Aucoin, and Ghettosocks. As a result he has be
nominated for artist of the year by Music Nova Scotia Music. His multi-disciplinary background and international experience influences
his art heavily, reflected in his disciplined devotion to technique,
his abundant array of subject matter, and above all, his passion for
colour.
http://peterfarmer.netNick has worked as a designer
and artist around the city for the past 5 years and can be seen with
the likes of Argyle Fine Art, The Paragon Theater and a number of other
smaller displays around the province. Utilizing paper stencils, spray
paint, spray glue and all things spray, he diplays an interesting mix
between modernist forms and folk art that Nick has carved, cut and
stamped into style all of his own.
www.bruntdesign.comSince graduating from NSCAD in 2008, Nova Scotian born James Farrell has showcased his figures, portraits and perspective based
paintings at a number of galleries in Halifax. His subject matter and style ranges widely from his
observational imagery to architectural and spatial exploration. He has also gained a reputation for
collaboration, often putting on shows with contemporaries or sometimes
working on the same canvases with another artist for an entire series.
Justin was born and raised in the maritimes but his work and influence has reached far beyond. As a classically trained animator justin has had the ability to work on numerous commercials for clients like Bell, Eastlink, Sobeys and IWK. His television work ranges from such shows as Chaotic, Busytown Mysteries, DMV, Food Chain, Happy Tree Friends and Family Guy to name a few. Though his career is in animation, his heart belongs to being an artist. These shows are a way for Justin to break out of the world of deadlines and show his ability to create incredible images with deadly lines.
On the strength of their refreshing and versatile sound and
intoxicatingly energetic live show, Cape Breton's Slowcoaster have
become one of the most popular jam rock bands in Canada. The members'
superior musicianship enables the trio to hammer out their own brand of
high energy, guitar based rock that incorporates touches of hip-hop,
jazz, reggae and Afro-Cuban grooves. Guitarist / vocalist Steven
MacDougall's stellar song writing skills and evocative vocals add a
defining soulful texture absent in much of today's rock music.
