Nocturne 2013

Art Gallery of Nova Scotia
Special Events

In the Education Studios

Fashionably Late
Inspired by artist Marie Webb’s love for fashion, participants are invited to channel their inner designer by creating the fashions of their dreams. Join us in the Education Studios  and help make this large-scale collaborative artwork grow as the night ticks on. The divas and secret fashionistas in each of us are invited to make art and let loose!

In Gallery 5  we will feature

Ballet, Beatles & Quintet

Canada’s Ballet Jörgen is joining forces with Halifax’s Rhapsody Quintet to perform together at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia. With arrangements by Rhapsody’s David Langstroth, the two groups are teaming up to explore a period of explosive creativity within the Beatles songbook: Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Ballet Jörgen will dance a selection from its repertoire, and then join the Quintet for A Day in the Life. Halifax songstress Karen Myatt, fresh off her first studio recording, joins the dancers and musicians. Performances run on the hour beginning at 6:00 p.m. with the final show at 11:00 p.m. (45 minute sets). All are welcome and all Nocturne events are free.
