School Tours

Join us for innovative and engaging guided visits for elementary, junior, and high school students. These interactive tours invite students to explore the world of art in a visually enriched learning environment.

Cost: $2.00 per student
Time: Tours can range from 30 - 90 minutes. Times will be tailored to your needs.

As a focus for their visit, teachers may choose to book a tour from the Options Program. Tours are relevant to both classroom and art programs.

The art we create comes from our life experiences, our resources and our temperaments. Explore the variety of art in the Gallery collection from Christopher Pratt to Maud Lewis. Learn about the artists’ lives, their influences and their choices of subjects, styles and treatments.

Exploring Folk Art

Grades: Primary - 12
Explore the folk art gallery, and learn more about the different artists and their lives. Explore their use of colour, shape and materials.

Tailored for you

Grades: Primary - 12
Major exhibits at the Gallery change every three to four months. Guided tour of each exhibit can be booked for your class. These tours will be especially designed to meet your requirements for grade and interest level.

Walk the Line

Grades: Primary – 12
The artist Paul Klee once described a line as taking a dot for a walk. Lines comes in unlimited sizes with many different expressive qualities. Students will discuss how the line as an element of design is used in a variety of art forms. 

Colour Cue

Grades: Primary - 9
Learn more about colour theory and the varied use of colour by artists. Students will discover more about colour associations and their own personal responses to colour. Historical, contemporary, realistic and abstract works will be viewed.
