FOLK ART OF NOV ACOTIA

Folk Art of Nova Scotia
Main Gallery

Folk Art of Nova Scotia celebrates the distinct heritage of the province through the work of artists whose lives were, and are, inextricably bound to the land and sea. Including paintings, drawings, carved figures and painted objects, the work included in this exhibition illustrates themes of domestic life, farming and fishing, while revealing the intuitive genius of its makers.  Maud Lewis, Joe Norris, Joseph Sleep, Charlie Tanner, Collins Eisenhauer, Sidney Howard, Donald Boudreau and Bradford Naugler, recognized pioneers in the field, are represented along with many others from this rich and varied tradition.
