Autism Arts: Western Branch

Curator: Dale Sheppard and Kris Webster

Autism Arts is a recreational art program for children and youth on the autism spectrum. It provides a safe, supportive environment so that young people can discover and express themselves through various art mediums. The setting also encourages social interaction and acceptance.

With the support of the Craig Foundation, The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and Autism Nova Scotia have worked in partnership at the AGNS in Halifax since 2006 to provide a range of visual art experiences for children and youth on the autism spectrum.

This year, with additional funding support from the Windsor Foundation, Autism Arts opened at the AGNS Western Branch in Yarmouth.

The culmination of their very successful first year of Autism Arts Saturday classes is now an exhibition of their work!
