About Evgenia Makogon
Evgenia was born and raised in a beautiful town called Sochi situated between the Black Sea and the Caucasus Mountains in the southern part of Russia. Her passion for art began when she was 12 years old. After attending art school in her hometown, watercolor painting, drawing and Russian folk art became her main subject of interest. While studying at the Russian State Pedagogical University she continued to practice her skills as an artist. Majestic mountains, sand beaches, subtropical vegetation and beautiful parks were an inspiration for landscape paintings and drawings.
After moving to Canada in 1997 Evgenia decided to continue her art education. In April 2005 she graduated from Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University with BFA (Interdisciplinary).
Evgenia enjoys painting landscapes, still life and semi abstract paintings based on naturalistic theme. She also participates in annual fund raising events such as Paint Sea on Site (Lunenburg), Paint The Town (Annapolis Royal) and Mosaic for Mental Health (Halifax-Dartmouth).
