Born in 1956, Paul Price credits his introduction to art to his Great Aunt Mid, an elementary school teacher, C. Anthony Law and Jane Shaw-Law. Given a box of chalk pastels, which he still uses, at the age of 11, Paul attended the Halifax Grammar School before moving on to study painting in Vienna, Austria at Hochscule Fur Darstellende Kunst as a teen.
Studying under Watercolorist Gordon Betts at the University of Illinois, Paul minored in Art History before returning to Halifax in the mid 1970’s. He once again began painting with Tony and Jane, and started painting with Ross McCulloch, Gillian McCulloch, Rob and Kath Rutherford and Leighton Davis.
In the 1980’s Paul attended the Emily Carr College of Art in British Columbia to study printmaking and painting. Returning to the East Coast in 1984, he began his painting expeditions to the Queen Charlotte Islands and Newfoundland. In 1989, Paul moved to the vibrant art community of Antigonish where he was able to further develop his skills.
Now living in Cornwall P.E.I. and enjoying another wonderful community of artists, Paul has commissioned a play entitled "Head of a Girl". He continues his painting both in the Arctic and the Maritimes.
