About Lesson Plans
The first lesson plans, compiled by teachers for teachers, linked the Art of the Ancient Mediterranean and Treasures of Ancient Egypt to concepts in visual art, social studies, mathematics, science, and language arts. Additional lessons continue to be added based on permanent collections at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia.

Professional Development for Teachers
Arts workshops throughout the fall, winter, and spring months take place at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia. These are opportunities for teachers to learn about Gallery works and art processes and to engage in art-making as a way to create dynamic and vibrant classrooms. An emphasis is placed on the all-important aspect of advocacy for the arts as a necessary core in our school curriculum. For information or to register, contact Willie Reid.

Learning through the Arts, visit ArtsSmarts Nova Scotia for more information.
