Art is a wonderful tool for self-expression, especially when words can be missing. There are very limited recreational activities that consider the unique needs of people with autism. Autism Arts is designed to provide creative opportunities for people with ASD by presenting meaningful and inspiring art experiences.
Arts programming is available for children, youth , adults, and families. This partnership provides an ideal opportunity for the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and the
Provincial Autism Centre to work together to build healthy communities.
Art ClassesArt classes for eight week sessions are available in the fall, winter, and spring for children ages six and up. Classes take place in the Gallery studios on Saturdays and are 60 minutes long. A well-qualified and experienced artist/art educator and an occupational therapist work together to provide a fun, safe, and creative learning environment. Call 446 4995 to register.
