7:00 pm A Curatorial View: Realism from the Atlantic Curator of Education & Public Programs Dale Sheppard, will conduct an interactive tour exploring Atlantic Realism focused on artists Mary Pratt, Alex Colville, Tom Forrestall, and Christopher Pratt. She will also discuss the works a number of key artists working in Atlantic Canada addressing issues of gender.
12:15 pm Pick of the Month Join Shannon Parker, Curator of Collections in an interactive discussion on artist Joseph Albers.
1:00 - 4:00 pm Family Sunday: Folk Art Fun! Drop into the studio to participate with family and friends in hands-on art activities related to FOLK ART. Gather inspiration from Nova Scotia’s well-known folk artist Maud Lewis and from the exhibition Show of Hands which includes signature pieces of folk art from the extensive AGNS collection. Work with wood, textiles, and lots of bold colours to create your own 2D and 3D creations. Children must be accompanied by an adult; no registration necessary.

Led by an artist, this informal program provides a wonderful opportunity to learn some new drawing skills, and refine those you have, as you join others in different gallery spaces to visually respond to the artworks and the people you see around you! Drop-in to draw for 10 minutes, or stay the afternoon! No drawing experience necessary!
