Fundy Art Tour
Saturday, June 9, 2012
The 2012 June Day Tour visited the beautiful Fundy Shore. The first stop on the trip was at Masstown Market for a much needed coffee break. The tour then headed to Diligent River for visits with Arlene Collins, artist and antique shop owner, as well as Krista Wells, a folk artist who gave the group a demonstration on creating jewellery and art with Fimo. We then headed to Parrsboro for a delicious lunch at the Bare Bones Bistro. Next we headed to Heather Lawson's stone sculpture studio and gallery in Bass River, where she explained the process of creating her intricate stone sculptures. Our final visit was to the Joy Laking Gallery in Portapique, where Joy provided us with coffee and snacks, and told us about her travels to South America to teach art to children in small mountain villages.
