Travelling Exhibitions

Committed to raising the level of knowledge about the visual arts and to making meaningful contributions to a national dialogue around historical and contemporary Canadian art, the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia develops exhibitions of significant art works in innovative and scholarly ways.

The recently revamped Travelling Exhibitions Program plays a vital role in supporting AGNS’s commitment to create exciting opportunities for access, outreach, and educational experiences by making a select group of these exhibitions, curated by AGNS staff, available for circulation. Drawing on a wide-ranging variety of media, art styles, subject matter, periods and cultures, these touring exhibitions offer opportunities for dynamic engagement and stimulating conversations among a broad range of audiences both regionally and nationally.

From retrospectives of renowned Canadian artists to collections of the freshest ideas in contemporary art, the selection of high caliber shows for this tour program reaffirms and energizes AGNS’s role in sharing our visual heritage.
