Opening of the exhibition, Express ARThritis with Oscar & Friends
Join us for a celebration of a commuinity collaborative project between The Arthritis Society and the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia with support from the IWK Health Centre. This exhibition showcases artworks created by young people with childhood arthritis who participated in a series of art workshops inspired by the art of folk artist Maud Lewis.
Light refreshments will be served.

Music in the Gallery: The Halifax All City Jazz Combos 7:00 - 9:00pm
Enjoy the music of the Halifax All City Senior Jazz Combos in an inspiring and relaxing gallery environment . These young musicians are from Halifax area schools and are dedicated to the exploration of jazz music and improvisation in the combo setting. They regularly perform at various concerts and functions around the region. Not to be missed!
As part of your visit, make sure you drop by the 3rd Floor, Gallery North to view the large-scale, dynamic portraits by the American artist Frederick J. Brown. In his practice, Brown explored the relationship between music and painting in his portraits of jazz and blues musicians.
