2012
Croatia, May 8-23
Fundy Shore, NS, June 9

Croatia -Our Croatian trip began in the capital, Zagreb, with a day north of the city visiting historic castles and the Neanderthal Museum. then we headed south along the Dalmatian coast, visiting hill towns, national parks and the beautiful coastal cities such as Zadar and Split, many with remains of their Roman origins. The highlight was the city of Dubrovnik, now restored to its former splendour after the recent war. We also visited several of the islands nearby.

Turkey, April 29-May 6
Chester, NS, June 4

Turkey - From the magnificent mosques and vibrant markets of Istanbul to the stunning landscape and underground cities of Cappadocia, the grandeur of Ephesus and the poignant beauty of Gallipoli, this tour was an endless source of wonder. Everywhere we went were traces of Turkey's past, from Roman and Greek remains to underwater cities.

Grand Pre, NS, June 5

The Netherlands -This trip began in Amsterdam, where we began our river boat cruise of the Netherlands and the Belgian cities of Antwerp and Ghent. We visited artists' studios as well as galleries, Arnhem and the Airborne Museum, and the historic town of Nijmegen. The next two days were in Antwerp and Ghent - both filled with art and architecture. After returning to Amsterdam through the bulb fields and gardens, the rest of the trip was spent in the city visiting its famous galleries, with side trips to the Van Gogh museum at Otterlo and the Mauritshuis in The Hague.
