AGNS Celebrates 100 Years of Flight
The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Flight in Canada this Sunday February 22 with a host of events for flight enthusiasts of all ages. At 11:00am, the AGNS will offer a Film Screening of Mabel Bell’s Aerial Experiment. At 1:30pm the AGNS will offer a lecture presentation titled First in Flight: The Achievements of the Aerial Experiment Association. This presentation will be given by historian and author John Boileau, on this remarkable Canadian achievement. At 2:30pm there will be a tour of the exhibition Flight Dreams. This exhibition which looks at Fight both historically and through the eyes of contemporary artists will remain on view until March 29, 2009. Also on all afternoon is an AGNS Studio Daze - Art about the Dart. This fun filled family drop in event will be available from 1:00pm to 4:00 pm. Invent flying machines like Alexander Graham Bell did with his team of scientists and be inspired by 100 years of flight in Canada.
