Scenes from the House Dream is a multi-part, multimedia, editioned series of individual but interconnected, artworks or scenes. Beginning in 2003, and continuing for five years, four to five new scenes from this project were launched each year. There are a total of 25 scenes. The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia possesses two of the scenes : 65 Footers and Carolina. The premiere of the completed project was in 2008 at the Southern Alberta Art Gallery.

This particular scene, 65 Footers, is a two channel video installation with a miniature model, mirrors, glass, three television monitors, two VCR's, tables, stands, and a framed glass portal. The scene is of a docked, 65 foot yacht, bobbing up and down in darkish green wind-swept water in what appears to be a desolate yacht club at night. The weather is inclement and the sound of water lapping onto creaking docks is clearly heard. A female figure appears on deck from the cabin below. She paces back and forth occasionally looks over the deck into the water. A faint barely perceptible shadow of a giant squid is seen on the hull of the yacht at the water line.  The underlying danger is palpable.  Hoffos has tapped into a nightmare moment.
