AGNS Looking for Instructors, Artists and Art Educators

Art Gallery of Nova Scotia issues call for artists/ art educators


The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia is currently looking for experienced artists/ art educators to teach art classes in the Summer School of the Arts program, 2009. Instructors must have experience working with children and have a background in the arts. Instructors will teach 2 classes daily for 5 days, Monday to Friday. Each instructor would teach a maximum of two weeks for the summer program.  Morning classes are from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm and afternoon classes are from 1:00pm - 4:00pm. Classes are divided by age as follows, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12 years of age and teens. Please provide the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia with a course description, a general list of materials, and a curriculum vitae.

The Summer School of the Arts is offered every year during July and August. More than 5000 children have participated over the years. Classes are offered in many disciplines including: painting, drawing, sculpture, clay, mask making, puppetry, textiles, paper and book making, photography and more.

Enrollment in the AGNS Summer School of the Arts begins Tuesday March 10, 2009.
