The AGNS to host a Public Art Forum

The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia will host a Public Art Forum on Thursday March 26 at 6:00pm. The purpose of this Forum is to encourage discussions about public art in the Halifax Regional Municipality. The AGNS will be hosting presentations that delve into current practices around public works with a four member panel presenting topics that address the commissioning/de-commissioning of works, alternative spaces, HRM's Public Art Policy and the agency of a contemporary public art program in the region. Speakers include: Anthony Black (Director, Playwright for 2b theatre company), Jamie MacLellan (Public Art Facilitator, HRM Cultural Affairs), Kim Morgan (Artist, Assistant Professor, NSCAD University), Ilan Sandler (Artist, Executive Director, Centre for Art Tapes) and moderator Robert Zingone (Assistant Curator, Contemporary Art, AGNS).

This Public Art Forum is free to the public and visitation to the AGNS is by donation.
