June 16, 2011 – HALIFAX, NS – High on the calendar for Halifax philanthropists, socialites, art lovers and fun seekers is the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia’s second annual Benefit Gala – Carnivale AGNS: Sideshow
. With just over a week to go tickets are selling fast to this June 25th red-carpet evening. The Gala promises to dazzle guests with a night of top-class entertainment to raise money for art education programs at the Gallery.
Big Top celebrations will kick off at 7:00pm. Sponsored by Scotia Private Client Group the three-ring evening begins with a pre-reception at the Scotiabank Main Branch at 1709 Hollis Street. The main event will follow in the Ondaatje Courtyard at 1723 Hollis Street.
“There is no better way to kick off the summer” said Mark Bursey, Chair of the Gala Committee”. “If you have ever dreamed of escaping for an evening or running away with the circus, Carnivale AGNS: Sideshow is for you. It promises to be our biggest and best fundraiser yet”.
Ringmaster Mike Hirschbach of Halifax Circus will command your attention and build the anticipation of what is to come. Guests will be astonished and amazed by a variety of circus performers including stilt walkers and aerial artists to name but a few. You will be able to peer into your future with fortune tellers, and immerse all of your senses with music, encounters with art and hor d’oeuvres but also revel in the childish delights of popcorn, candy floss, ice-cream cones and all kinds of chocolate!
